Sapientia Press exists to foster the academic mission of Ave Maria
University. As Ave Maria University’s academic publishing
imprint, Sapientia Press seeks to gain an international reputation
for excellence in publishing scholarly books aimed at enhancing
and promoting Catholic scholarship.
Sapientia Press aims at publishing two kinds of academic
books:
1) Scholarly monographs and edited volumes, intended to contribute
to first-rate Catholic scholarship in the arts and sciences
2) Short primers of 100-150 pages each that provide a scholarly
but accessible introduction to important topics for undergraduates,
educated lay readers, and seminarians (our “Sapientia Classics”
Series)
As a small but growing academic press, Sapientia Press has developed
particular specializations in literature, theology, and Catholic
social teaching.
Sapientia Press publishes the bi-monthly literary magazine Saint
Austin Review, edited by Joseph Pearce and Robert Asch, and
a quarterly scholarly journal of theology, philosophy, and biblical
studies entitled Nova et Vetera, whose Senior Editor is
Cardinal Georges Cottier, OP, Theologian of the Pontifical Household.
